Financial Consultant, Employee Benefits

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Runs and analyzes client monthly financial reporting (MFSR) and presents MFSRs to clients.
• Provides intermediate-level financial reporting and presents results to clients.
• Works independently and/or under senior team member's guidance to assist with client budget modeling as needed.
• Recommends basic strategic and tactical initiatives based upon clinical and financial data.
• Analyzes IBNR results with senior team member oversight.
• Attends client meetings with occasional day and overnight travel required.
• Articulates how emerging market conditions impact client health and welfare plans from a cost and clinical perspective.
• Articulates employee benefit related compliance regulations, particularly as it pertains to client financial and budget needs.
• Articulates plan designs, funding arrangements, benefit/demographic adjustments, stop-loss insurance, out of network savings arrangements.
• Project management of intermediate financial/reporting/H&W benefits projects.
• Performs special projects and other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• Education : High school diploma; college degree preferred.

• Experience : 3-5 years applicable experience, preferably in the insurance industry [at a brokerage or provider organization].
• Licensing : Active state specific Life & Health Insurance agent’s license required or the ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
• Skills & Technical Competencies : Key skills for effective client consulting include a solid grasp of insurance principles to meet strategic needs, strong client management to prioritize and deliver impactful solutions, and sharp analytical abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

The salary range for Minnesota is $83,800 - $125,800 . Compensation is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, work experience and industry certifications. In addition to your salary, Holmes Murphy offers a comprehensive total rewards program including annual bonuses, total wellbeing benefits and support for professional development.
