Position: Full-Time, On-Site
Compensation: $24–$36 per hour, depending on experience

North Hollywood Speedometer and Clock Company is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented technician to repair, rebuild, restore and calibrate automotive instruments.

Our work includes instruments from classic, vintage and specialty automobiles, including Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari and other European and American vehicles.

We are looking for someone who enjoys precision mechanical work, electronics troubleshooting and solving challenging technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic speedometers and tachometers.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electronics at a component level.
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment such a oscilloscopes.
• Repair fuel, temperature, oil-pressure and other automotive gauges.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, instrument movements, wiring and electronic components.
• Disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble precision mechanical instruments.
• Repair odometers, gears, motors and related mechanisms.
• Perform calibration and functional testing.
• Work with vintage VDO, Smiths, Jaeger, Stewart-Warner and similar instruments.
• Document repairs and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Experience repairing automotive gauges, instrument clusters or similar precision instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with soldering, electrical testing and component-level electronics repair.
• Ability to work with small, delicate mechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and other diagnostic equipment.

• Automotive electrical diagnostics
• Vintage automotive restoration
• Dental technician

Direct automotive gauge repair experience is preferred but not mandatory. Training is available for candidates with strong related technical skills.
