Terraforming: Artist Talk & Finissage with Bastian & Grote

Overview In the exhibition On Terraforming, Charlotte Bastian and Andrea J. Grote create unsettling visual worlds that depict landscape as a system profoundly shaped – and endangered – by human activity. Using photography as a point of departure, both artists develop distinct aesthetic strategies to reveal human interventions in nature. Bastian’s collages and stereoscopic montages merge times and places into paradoxical landscapes of the Anthropocene. Grote’s installations and photographs address the destructive exploitation of alpine environments and the ambivalence between visual seduction and ecological harm. Berlin Independents Guide is an artist run communications platform. Listings are accepted from project spaces, galleries, art institutes and art related venues in Berlin.
