POSITION GOAL

To supervise the day to day operations of the maintenance departments’ representative trades services

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES

Represent Volusia County School Board and the Department with a positive and professional service oriented demeanor. Assure the safety of children comes first. Analyze departmental needs and implement appropriate action. Supervise personnel as assigned, including training, performance appraisal, and assisting with selection. Direct and monitor the performance of all assigned personnel. Plan and schedule maintenance activities in conjunction with student schedules when appropriate. Evaluate and provide the project estimates of materials and labor costs. Schedule and coordinate contractors. Assure that all work is performed in compliance with appropriate codes. Review construction documents and make recommendations as related to the field. Monitor the activities of assigned trades to assure quality control. Abide by all security procedures. Coordinate and supervise emergency repair work as needed. Report equipment misuse and/or dangerous situations related to work orders or equipment. Responsible for equipment, tools, and repair parts, including submitting purchase orders. Abide and monitor safety rules/ standards, including wearing required safety equipment and compliance with OSHA (Occupation Safety and Health Administration) requirements. Coordinate and work as part of a team by establishing and maintaining working relationships that foster efficiency, productivity, and quality, and promote relationships with administrators, employees, students, faculty and the public. Prepare all required documents and reports. Monitor the maintenance of equipment on a regular basis. Respond or provide response to emergency maintenance needs on call. Participate in the activities of Maintenance and Operations' Emergency Response Team as designated Respond to after hour concerns and requests. Complete accident investigation/reports. Complete workers compensation reports and investigations. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Maintenance and Operations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred Two (2) years specialized training, preferred Five (5) years verified experience in the related field Proven successful supervisory experience or a level of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the position Documentation of level of accomplishment in respective trade specialization Available after working hours (on call) for emergencies, disaster response and scheduled shift work Must be able to maintain knowledge of current technology and systems in related field Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License; if a holder of any other valid US state-issued Driver’s License, agree to acquire a Florida Driver’s License within thirty (30) days of employment, except in a case where accommodation is required Must be able to operate school board vehicles, when assigned, in accordance with operational procedures and School Board Policy 505

REQUIRED SKILLS

Strong knowledge of codes, building systems and components, and their relationship to maintaining a healthy building environment Strong supervisory and critical thinking skills Proficient in Windows based maintenance computer systems, programs, and applications e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, report writing and data bases as it pertains to the related field Ability to read, interpret, research and report technical data necessary in relevant formats Ability to read, interpret and follow written documentation/diagrams for all field relevant products and/or equipment, and recommended uses of job related chemicals Ability to participate in all types of emergencies/disasters Strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate, coordinate and work with all levels of the organization, school community and representatives of governmental agencies Ability to make sound workable decisions, render judgments, and take action on decisions made, and assume responsibility for those outcomes of self and assigned staff in a timely manner Ability to establish priorities and fulfill all work requirements competently through planning, time management, decision making and implementation processes Ability to analyze technical and manpower needs and maintain a correct inventory for safety, cost savings/reduction and department changes Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team with your assigned staff and other departments Ability to motivate individuals desire to develop their technical and professional growth Ability to travel to various work locations REPORTS TO Coordinator, Maintenance and Operations SUPERVISES Support staff as assigned Salary Info $51,732 to $59,376 Summary If you’re applying for a transfer position that requires an addendum, complete the General Application and the required addendum listed at the bottom of the job board page. #J-18808-Ljbffr Focus School Software, LLC
