About Elegance Foods USA

Elegance Foods USA manufactures specialty baked goods, and is building a new commercial bakery in the City of San Fernando (Los Angeles area), California, to start production in early 2027. The facility will manufacture filled cookies and bars on a new automated line with convection ovens and an automatic packaging line — a completely new combination of best-in-class equipment from Europe and the US.

We are part of a group with established bakery operations abroad, and this plant is the first step of a growth plan in the United States. The people who join now will grow with it.

The role

You will start before the machines are running, and you will see every piece of equipment go in. The manufacturers' technicians from Europe and the US install and commission the line with you on the floor, and they train you on their machines. When production starts (targeted for early 2027), you will be a line technician and trainer on the floor, and after startup you will keep the plant running and make it run better.

What you will do

Installation and commissioning

•        Be on site for every installation: flour handling, ovens, the depositor line, the packaging line, the mixer and dough feeder.

•        Work alongside the OEM technicians from the multiple suppliers in the US and Europe, and take their training on operation, cleaning, changeovers and maintenance.

•        Learn and document the plant's utilities: compressed air, gas, electrical panels, HVAC, water.

•        Monitor, report on and help manage the construction work still under way before startup — electrical, gas, plumbing, HVAC and finishing contractors on site.

•        Help commission the full line and take part in the first production runs.

Startup: line technician and trainer

•        Be the technical reference for the production crew (about 12-15 people on one shift): start-ups, changeovers, product quality, shutdown and cleaning.

•        Train the operators on their machines as you were trained.

•        Be the first call when a machine stops; fix it, or work with the manufacturer's support to fix it.

•        Be on the production floor throughout production: this is a hands-on, floor-based role, not a desk job.

Ongoing: maintain and improve

•        Preventive maintenance on the whole line and the utilities; spare parts and supplier follow-up.

•        Keep the plant in food-safety condition with the crew.

•        Keep training and learning: gain knowledge from management and the OEMs and pass it on to the crew.

•        Find and fix what slows the line down; propose improvements and carry them out with management.

What we are looking for

•        3+ years of hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment — food, bakery, or packaging lines preferred.

•        Comfortable with motors, drives, pneumatics, sensors, conveyors and basic PLC/HMI understanding; can read electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics.

•        Practical with tools, welding or fabrication a plus; able to run a machine as well as repair it, and to understand what each machine can do and how it is meant to work.

•        Working knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food-safety practices in a food plant: sanitation, allergen control, and maintenance work that keeps the product safe.

•        An open mind for learning new tools and methods from European OEMs and from management; someone who wants to learn a whole plant from the ground up and then guide a crew with a calm, hands-on style.

•        Good organizational skills and note-keeping: maintenance logs, spare-parts lists, cleaning schedules, what the OEMs taught.

•        Able to work a flexible schedule during installation and startup, including some early or late hours when technicians are on site.

•        Able to perform the physical parts of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: lift and carry up to 50 lbs; bend, kneel, squat and work in tight spaces when servicing equipment; climb ladders and stairs, including roof access; and stand and walk for extended periods.

•        Authorized to work in the US.

Where this goes

This is the first technical hire of a new plant. The person who learns this line from the installers and runs it through startup is in the best position to grow into a lead role as the plant adds products, shifts and lines. Details

•         Location:  San Fernando, CA (Los Angeles area) — on site.

•         Start:  Tuesday, December 1, 2026.

•         Schedule:  full time (40 hours / week), one shift; flexible during installation and commissioning (December – mid-January).

•         Pay: $30–35 per hour; non-exempt, overtime paid per California law; reviewed after one year. Employment is on an at-will basis. 

•         Benefits:

–        Paid vacation: 

–        5 days (40 hours) in the first year; 7 days (56 hours) in the second year; 10 days (80 hours) in the third and subsequent years.

–        Medical: company contribution toward employee health insurance, starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment
