We’re looking for a dependable and skilled Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility operating safely, efficiently, and at the highest standards.\n About the Role \n
\nThe Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, functionality, and appearance of KanPak’s buildings and surrounding grounds. This role involves skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and groundskeeping.\n
\nYou’ll work with a high level of independence while coordinating closely with Engineering and Capital Project leadership to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and facility reliability.\n What You’ll Do Main Functions: \n

\n
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, roofs, siding, walls, flooring, and exterior surfaces
\n
• Complete interior and exterior painting projects as needed
\n
• Repair and patch flooring to maintain safe walking surfaces
\n
• Remove snow and apply salt to roadways, walkways, and access points
\n
• Perform minor electrical repairs, including:\n
  \n
  • Wall switches and outlets
  \n
  • Light fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, sockets, and fuses
  \n
  • Minor appliances and cords
  \n
\n
• Perform minor plumbing repairs, including:\n
  \n
  • Fixing faucet and drain leaks
  \n
  • Unclogging drains
  \n
  • Trenching and laying small utility lines
  \n
\n
• Replace HVAC filters and clean exhaust fans
\n

\n
Responsibilities Related to the Job: \n
\nCoordinate GSF Quality activities and operations to meet objectives for quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction at KanPak.\n
\nParticipate in formulating and administering division’s short- and long-range goals and objectives for business growth. Equipment & Tools \n

\n
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
\n
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, mowers, loaders, and snow plows
\n
• Estimate time and materials needed for maintenance and repair tasks
\n

Other Responsibilities \n

\n
• Work flexible hours as required to support facility needs
\n
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information
\n
• Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned
\n

\n What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications \n

\n
• High school diploma or equivalent
\n
• Valid driver’s license (must be maintained)
\n
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
\n
• Strong understanding of safe work practices
\n

Preferred Experience \n

\n
• 1+ year of building and grounds maintenance experience
\n
• Food manufacturing or food industry experience (preferred)
\n

\n Knowledge, Skills & Abilities \n

\n
• Proficiency with hand and power tools (saws, drills, grinders, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
\n
• Experience operating forklifts and lift equipment
\n
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
\n
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
\n
• Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable
\n
• Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and pride in work
\n

\n The Schedule and Setting: \n
Pay Range (Base Pay): $22/hour \n
Days: Tuesday-Friday 10hr Shift or Monday-Thursday 10hr Shift \n
Shift: 6a-4p \n
\nWork Environment\n

\n
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
\n
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
\n
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and stand for extended periods
\n
• Ability to distinguish colors, sounds, and smells as required for safety and maintenance tasks
\n
