Cashier (Part-time) – ARC Adult Rehabilitation Center Posted Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 4:00 AM. Job Summary Assists store customers in selecting and purchasing items. Responsibilities Operate and maintain a cash register; collect monies, count change, and prepare receipts; balance the cash register drawer and print routine register printouts; prepare and deliver bank deposits. Respond to customer questions and assist customers who are donating items. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of merchandise and displays. Maintain the neatness and security of the cash register area; secure merchandise and the cash register. Clean display racks and shelves; sweep and mop floors; clean windows, mirrors, and help maintain overall cleanliness of store. Answer the store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of effective customer service techniques. Knowledge of the principles and practices of basic mathematics. Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in the English language. Education and Experience High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred; experience working in a retail store preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licenses and Certifications None. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to operate a cash register. Ability to accurately and timely perform routine mathematical computations and count change. Ability to operate and answer the telephone. Generally limited physical effort required associated with sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling (75% to 100% of work time). May include carrying, pushing, pulling or moving objects (typically less than 50 lbs.) 25-50% of work time.
