Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff throughout clinic facilities. This position supports infection prevention efforts and ensures all assigned areas meet health, safety, and regulatory standards while promoting a positive patient experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience
• Experience in a healthcare or medical setting
• Training in infection control or healthcare cleaning practices

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize exam rooms, patient rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, offices, and common areas according to established clinic protocols
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces including doorknobs, light switches, exam tables, chairs, counters, and other frequently used areas
• Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational guidelines at all times
• Properly handle, store, and dispose of waste materials, including biohazard waste when applicable
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and restroom necessities
• Safely mix, use, and store cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer and organizational instructions
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and surfaces
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues to the supervisor
• Maintain cleaning schedules, logs, and documentation as required
• Provide courteous and professional interactions with patients, visitors, and staff
• Support a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout the facility
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization methods, preferably within a healthcare environment
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established cleaning procedures
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments efficiently

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive motions such as mopping, wiping, dusting, and vacuuming
• Ability to push, pull, and maneuver cleaning equipment and supplies as needed
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Work Environment:

• Primarily works in indoor clinical and office settings
• Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants
• Possible exposure to bodily fluids and biohazard materials
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate for assigned duties
