School Office Assistant – Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled Salary: $20,376 – $37,152 The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years‑of‑service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed the salary range listed above. What You’ll Do Type, utilizing a computer keyboard, with computer competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Outlook). Maintain moderately complex databases to provide service and accurate information for management. Review documents and reports to ensure work product meets established standards. Assist staff with completing forms to provide service. Complete expense and/or other financial forms to process reimbursement or payment request. File and copy correspondence and other records, maintaining an organized filing system. Open, sort, process and distribute mail. Answer telephone, take messages and route calls efficiently. Greet and welcome visitors, determine nature of business and conduct visitors to the appropriate person. Order and inventory supplies. Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines. Maintain confidentiality of parent, student and staff personally identifiable information. Participate in staff development activities as necessary to keep secretarial skills updated. Must maintain CPR, AED and First Aide certification as specified by MSSD. Utilize each student’s individual communication system. All You Need For Success High School diploma or G.E.D. Supplemental secretarial practice, bookkeeping and computer application courses preferred. (Other qualifications and experience which in the opinion of the Commissioner of Education meet the requirements of the position may be accepted in lieu of the above.)
