We help our customers move the world.Position Overview:Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill a new Field Service Technician position in Chicago, IL to assist in the coordination and implementation of all phases of the service and maintenance activities of our SIEMENS CHARGER locomotives. You will also be responsible for assisting in various maintenance activities with our customers, training their maintenance personnel, and advising on the best maintenance techniques.Setting a safe work environment and proactively supporting our customers is essential to the function. You will interact with the operational, engineering, and dispatching departments for the railroad's safe, cost-effective, and efficient operations. This position will work a first or third shift. (6am – 2pm or 10pm to 6am) Position will include a weekend day included in 5-day work week. Shift hours can change based on customer schedule and maintenance needs.What your day-to-day will look like:Provide positive customer service experience by establishing a rapport with Customer management and maintenance facility personnel.Ensure the provision of high-quality technical advice to the customer's maintenance workforce to improve the equipment reliability of the Charger fleet.Ensure responsiveness and support to finishing the troubleshooting and repairs assigned to service requests.Ensure the delivery of ongoing system operation training for the customers.Identify Non-conformance issues and improvement recommendations.Assists the local customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair works.Ensure accurate communication between the customer, our Rail Support Center, and the field team when required.Give feedback to the team regarding performance, quality, and efficiency issues.Work with 3rd party vendors, such as Cummins, to ensure proper operation of vendor components installed on the locomotive.Continually progress customers' maintenance practices to support the Charger locomotive as intended by the manual.To thrive in this role, you have:Associate's degree in electrical technology or other technical subject areas or a minimum of 2+ years of electrical/mechanical experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Experience troubleshooting Electrical (both AC and DC circuits), Mechanical, and Pneumatic systems.Experience interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.Excellently demonstrated English language technical communication skills.Proven skills with all Microsoft Office (including Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint) products.Ability to travel 10%Setting you apart from others would be experience in rolling stock (railroad) maintenance and commissioning or other rail-related experience as well as knowledge of Railroad Regulatory, FRA requirements, and guidelines.Why you'll love working for Siemens!Freedom and healthy work-life balance– Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, HSA/FSA, Commuter Benefits – starting Day 1.We believe that each member of our team is accountable for making decisions, solving problems, and taking actions that contribute to long-term impact and financial success.We do the right thing.
