This position is located at a leading acute-care hospital in Winston-Salem, NC, known for its Level 1 Trauma designation and commitment to excellence in patient care.\n Unit Information:\n \n 55 horizontal beds, 6 vertical beds, 15 observation beds, and 5 behavioral health holding beds\n Average daily census: 200-220 patients\n Fast-paced environment with a variety of patient types, including trauma, stroke, and burn cases\n \n Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:\n \n Trauma/Stroke/STEMI/Burn cases, including GSWs, stabbings, multi-trauma, MVC, MI, CVA, hypothermia, drownings, falls, and overdoses\n Psychosis, pacing, vent management, blunt trauma\n \n Patient Ratios:\n \n RN: 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, 6:1 based on clinical area worked or acuity\n LPN: 4:1/5:1/6:1 based on clinical area worked or acuity\n \n Required Licensure & Certifications:\n \n RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (Resource Team Requirements)\n \n Support within the Department:\n \n ED Tech for ADLs, vital signs, I/O cath, foley placement, and phlebotomy\n Unit Secretary and Charge Nurse available\n 24/7 Critical Care Pharmacists, Paramedic Staff, and Hospitalist\n Telemetry monitoring\n \n Technology/Equipment:\n \n EMR: Epic\n IV Pump: Alaris\n Med dispensing: Omnicell\n Monitors: Phillips\n Unit-specific equipment: GE Ultrasounds for point of care, GE EKG machines\n \n Orientation:\n \n NEO and 2 days departmental orientation\n \n Additional Information:\n \n Scrub Color: Royal Blue\n Parking: Free\n \n GLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
