Job Summary The Clinical Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory non-technical tasks to assist laboratory workflow. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Functions

• Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
• Monitors pending lists and assists with Add on testing.
• Manages specimens to be given to technical staff for pending tests.
• Processes send out testing to be placed on a packing list to a referral laboratory
• Monitors inventory as required for par levels and storage
• Answers phones and places phone calls are requested.
• Removes and discards specimens that are no longer needed.
• Investigate location and status of specimens in the LIS
• Place specimens in centrifuge and on automated track systems.
• Records temperature, humidity, and other maintenance logs as needed.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience or healthcare environment experience preferred
