Buyer/Planner II

Buyer/Planner II Location: On-site, Santa Barbara Salary: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year (DOE)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchase the material required for production including raw materials, machined parts, electronic components, tools, and other supplies. Develop relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, and coordinate logistics. Initiate RFQ's and onboard capable suppliers. Analyze part usage and sales forecasts to set up appropriate planning policies in the MRP system. Assist the Purchasing team with technical planning questions. Manage supply chain projects with limited supervision. Represent the Materials team in ECO meetings. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including supplier development and process/cost improvement. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully. Participate in the Materials group's continuous improvement projects. Work effectively with limited or no supervision. Work full time onsite.

QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced MRP knowledge. APICS CPIM certification preferred. Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chains. Strong analytical skills and ability to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships at all levels. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Analytical skills for short‑term and long‑term planning and follow‑up. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems. Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., Defense, Aerospace, medical device) preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Production and Operations Management or equivalent experience (5+ years Buyer/Planner experience).
