Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)We are seeking a qualified Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to join our team at a Level II Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU located in a dynamic healthcare environment. This facility has 60 beds, including 21 inpatient holding, 2 psychiatric rooms, and 14 hall spaces, with an average daily patient volume of 140-150.The ED serves a diverse range of patients, including:Pediatrics to geriatricsTraumaGunshot wounds (GSW)SepsisCOVID-19STEMIStrokeDiabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)Mental health issuesAdult psychiatric careRespiratory issuesChest painThe typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, which may flex to 1:5 for lower acuity patients.Candidates must hold the following certifications:BLS (Basic Life Support)ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)CPI/MOAB (Crisis Prevention Institute/Management of Aggressive Behavior)Traveler Competency ExamQualified candidates should possess strong general emergency department experience, including:Cardiac rhythm interpretationIV skillsKnowledge of drips and medication administrationProcedural sedationBlood administrationAdministration of cardiac medicationsYour work will be supported by:Emergency Room Technicians for glucose checks and assisting with splintingA charge nurse who rarely takes an assignmentA resource/float nurse (pending staffing)Registered Respiratory Therapists available 24/7An ED educator for training and developmentSecurity personnel for safety 24/7House Supervisor on-site 24/7Pharmacy support available 24/7 for assistance in codesThe facility utilizes the following systems and equipment:Electronic Medical Records (EMR): EpicIV Pumps: AlarisMedication dispensing system: PyxisTelemetry monitoring with both central and bedside systems at the nursing station (no telemetry technician)New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation process, which includes:First Day: NEO (badge issuance and Epic training as needed), meet with educator3-4 shifts (12 hours each) with a preceptor on your assigned shiftCompletion of the Traveler Telemetry Competency exam prior to startingShifts available include:Day: 0700 - 1900 or 0900 - 2100Mids: 1100 - 2300 or 1300 - 0100Evening/Night: 1500 - 0300 or 1900 - 0700Staff members will typically work a six-week block of the same shift.
