About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Training Development & Delivery, this role partners closely with operational leaders, supervisors and crew trainers to deliver effective training solutions that build capability, improve performance and ensure training compliance across BHP’s Prominent Hill operation.

You will play a key role in supporting frontline leaders and on-the-job trainers to embed effective workplace learning practices, maintain training compliance, and develop workforce capability through high-quality training delivery, coaching and governance.

This position is based at Prominent Hill Mine on a 5/2, 4/3 FIFO roster, with Adelaide-based work on Mondays. FIFO ex Adelaide or Port Augusta.

In this role you will:

• Deliver engaging face-to-face training programs and competency-based learning solutions that support safe, productive and compliant operations.
• Partner with operational leaders, supervisors and crew trainers to build capability, strengthen training quality and ensure training requirements are achieved in the workplace.
• Support and coach workplace trainers and leaders in the effective delivery of training and assessment activities, while promoting best practice learning and development approaches.
• Act as the site Learning Management System (LMS) subject matter expert, providing coaching, guidance and support to leaders and employees in the effective use of SAP SuccessFactors and associated learning systems.
• Provide timely resolution of training system enquiries and support users to navigate training, competency and compliance requirements.
• Maintain robust training governance processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of training records, assessments, competencies and learning data.
• Monitor training compliance and workforce capability requirements, providing advice and support to operational teams to address gaps and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop, review and continuously improve training materials, learning resources and assessment tools using adult learning principles and best-practice learning methodologies.
• Work collaboratively with operational leaders, subject matter experts, employees and external stakeholders to identify capability needs and implement practical training solutions.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness and support the transfer of learning to the workplace through coaching, observation and engagement with frontline teams.
• Deliver quality training programs that achieve intended outcomes and contribute to safe, capable and high-performing operational teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or Diploma qualification is essential, with a trade or technical qualification highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience delivering training within mining, processing, heavy industry or other operational environments.
• Strong facilitation, coaching and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence frontline teams and operational leaders.
• Experience working with supervisors, workplace trainers and subject matter experts to develop workforce capability and competency.
• Sound understanding of adult learning principles and effective learning transfer practices.
• Experience developing, reviewing and improving training programs, learning resources and assessment materials.
• Previous experience using Learning Management Systems such as SAP SuccessFactors and Moodle is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of training governance, competency management and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to build productive working relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
• A passion for continuous improvement, safety leadership and developing capability in operational teams.
