We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle for a commercial office and retail portfolio of 18+ properties concentrated in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley markets. This is a hands-on role working closely with and under the direction of the CFO handling day-to-day financial operations, tenant billing, and lease-related accounting with precision and consistency.

This is a demanding role that rewards with experience and industry knowledge. We're looking for an efficient, detail-oriented professional who thrives on meeting deadlines and takes ownership of accuracy. The ideal candidate is a Yardi expert — or someone eager to grow into one — with genuine interest in expanding their skill set beyond day-to-day transactional work. A technical accountant who is comfortable with technology and eager to integrate AI tools into daily workflows will excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Cash Management

• Process tenant receipts and manage remote check scan deposits
• Monitor tenant ledgers, resolve billing discrepancies, and support collections

Accounts Payable

• Handle light AP processing, invoice coding, and payment cycles

Reconciliations & Journal Entries

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations across property and entity accounts
• Prepare and post standard andadjustingjournal entries
• Support month-end and year-end close

Lease Administration & Tenant Billing

• Maintain lease abstracts and rent schedules in Yardi
• Process monthly tenant billing, including recurring charges and recoveries
• Serve as a financial point of contact for tenants on billing questions and disputes

Tax & Compliance Support

• Prepare supporting financial schedules and documentation for CPA-led tax return preparation
• Process and support annual 1099 filings

General Bookkeeping

• Maintainaccuratebooks across the portfolio's entities

Technology & Process Efficiency

• Identifyopportunities to apply AI tools and automation to reduce manual, repetitive accounting tasks
• Monitor andvalidateAI-assisted outputs for accuracy beforethey'rerelied upon in reporting or filings
• Continuously improve accounting workflows and system usage within Yardi and related tools

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on Yardi experience (Version 7s and 8) —required
• 3–5 years of progressive commercial property accounting experience, ideally within office and/or retail asset classes
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and commercial lease accounting concepts (CAM/NNN recoveries, escalations, straight-line rent)
• Demonstrated experience with full-cycle accounting: AR, AP, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Prior experience preparing schedules for outside CPA tax preparation and 1099 processing
• High degree of independence, discretion, and reliability — this role carries fiduciary responsibility foraccurate,timelyportfolio financials
• Strong Excel skills; comfort working across multiple entities and properties simultaneously
• Demonstrated interest in and practical use of AI tools (e.g., automation, generative AI, workflow tools) to improve accuracy and efficiency in accounting tasks — with sound judgment aboutvalidatingAI output beforeit'srelied upon
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for direct tenant interaction
