About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care in a busy CVICU setting, caring for patients including heart and lung transplants, LVAD patients, and those undergoing ACB and valve surgeries
• Titrate vasoactive and other cardiac drips per protocol in an intensivist-led model
• Operate and monitor advanced cardiac devices including LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, and IABP
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments in a high-acuity environment
• Float to other units as needed based on competency and unit census
• Adhere to scheduled shifts based on unit needs, including every-other-weekend and holiday availability

• Active RN license with current ICU experience
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• Ability to titrate drips independently for cardiac patients
• Flexibility with scheduling - no self-scheduling; schedule is assigned based on unit needs
• Every-other-weekend availability required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Openness to floating based on unit competency needs

• 3 or more years of ICU nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• CRRT training and experience (training may be available for qualified candidates)
• Prior experience in a high-volume, large hospital setting

• Work in a large, high-acuity CVICU at a Level 1 Trauma center, gaining exposure to complex cardiac cases and advanced device management
• Structured unit orientation with 2-3 preceptor shifts to support your transition onto the unit
