Data Product Manager

Overview The Finance Transformation team is evolving from a project‑centric delivery model to a product‑led mindset, ensuring our internal tools are as intuitive and innovative as the products Apple sells. We are looking for a Data Product Engineer who thrives at the intersection of business needs and technical solutions. Responsibilities Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for finance data products aligned with business priorities such as close acceleration, forecast accuracy, and regulatory reporting. Prioritize use cases and own the product lifecycle from ideation through adoption to deprecation. Partner closely with finance stakeholders across FP&A, accounting, treasury, and tax to translate financial concepts into scalable, governed data models, ensuring alignment with SOX, GAAP, and IFRS requirements. Collaborate with architects and engineers to design canonical data models, define data contracts, and establish semantic layers that standardize key financial metrics and dimensions across platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks. Work with data engineering teams to turn product requirements into technical specifications, participating in agile processes such as backlog prioritization and sprint planning. Define and enforce data quality rules, validation checks, and certification tiers. Partner with governance teams using tools like DataHub or Collibra to enable metadata management, lineage tracking, and discoverability. Communicate product vision, roadmap, and progress to both technical and business stakeholders; drive adoption through enablement, documentation, and feedback loops, measuring success with KPIs such as adoption, data quality, and measurable business impact. Minimum Qualifications 5–10+ years of experience in data, product management, analytics, or engineering roles, preferably in finance or fintech. BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Strong product mindset with experience owning and scaling data or platform products. Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks). Strong understanding of SQL and data transformation frameworks (dbt preferred). Familiarity with data catalogs and governance tools (DataHub, Collibra). Exposure to semantic layer tools (Cube, AtScale, LookML, or similar). Good understanding of finance processes and data (GL, P&L, forecasting, reporting). Experience working in governed environments with data quality, lineage, and compliance considerations. Ability to bridge business and engineering teams and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
