Our client is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer, ready to bring their skills, experience, and energy to a great, growing team.

What you'll be doing...

• Overseeing the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems.
• Supervising and managing engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching, and personal development.
• Creating and routinely updating a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures.
• Participating regularly in client-facing and property team communications.
• Leading, creating, and managing the engineering budget and participating in the overall operating budget process.
• Assisting in the development of a capital improvement plan.
• Selecting, scheduling, supervising, and directing contractors; monitoring and documenting performance.
• Responding effectively to emergencies and service calls.
• Leading and organizing ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs and procedures.
• Performing other duties as requested by the property management team and/or client.

The right person has...

• 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or similar role.
• Experience in people management (leading a team).
• Trade school education, union training, military service, or college background is desirable.
• Strong background in HVAC, compressors, and electrical systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall.
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive.
• Strong customer service and communication skills - written and verbal, and comfortable in a client-facing position.
• Technology acumen and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management systems.
