Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in adult and geriatric care. The position involves caring for acute medical-surgical patients with diagnoses such as CHF, infections, cardiac catheterization, pacemaker management, pneumonia, stroke, TIA, seizures, UTI, and others. Responsibilities include post care of pacemaker and cardiac catheterization procedures. The role entails performing a variety of post care procedures including thoracentesis and chest tube management. The nurse will also be responsible for administering various cardiac and heparin drips. Candidates should have experience with paternal dialysis. Experience in managing telemetry patients is crucial. Communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams is necessary. The patient ratio is typically five patients per nurse during day and night shifts. This role may require weekend coverage. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment is essential. Candidates must adhere to safety protocols and demonstrate competence in managing dysrhythmias and other acute medical situations.
