Representative Payee
Rome Rescue Mission | Rome, NY
The Rome Rescue Mission is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented Representative Payee to help individuals who need assistance managing their Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.
This position plays an important role in supporting financial stability, promoting accountability, and helping clients maintain dignity and independence.
Responsibilities
- Manage benefit payments on behalf of assigned clients
- Develop and maintain client budgets based on individual needs
- Pay bills and monitor spending
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Ensure funds are used in the client's best interest
- Communicate with landlords, service providers, and community agencies
- Report required changes and updates to appropriate agencies
- Support clients with professionalism, respect, and compassion
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Basic computer skills required
- Experience in bookkeeping, budgeting, human services, or social services preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Dependable, ethical, and able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Position Details
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Pay: Negotiable based on experience
Location: Rome Rescue Mission, 413 East Dominick Street, Rome, NY
