Instrument Fitter - Texas City

Job Summary Rabalais I&E Constructors seeks Instrument Fitters for one of our Texas City, Tx jobsites. An Instrument Fitter must have knowledge and skills necessary to install, modify, test, and maintain copper, PVC coated copper, and stainless‑steel tubing systems associated with instruments, valves, and control devices. Qualifications Be able to furnish own transportation to and from job sites or staging areas. Read, write, and understand English. Be a minimum of 18 years of age. Not use illegal drugs or consume excessive alcohol; consent to drug/alcohol testing when required. Comply with safety standards. Have own hand tools. Workers should be able to rate information using personal judgment, work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, perform a variety of duties that may change often, use reason and logic, perform arithmetical operations rapidly and accurately, see details in objects or drawings, recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings, and picture flat objects as 3‑dimensional objects. Physically, workers must be able to work easily and skillfully with hands, climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and vessels, see well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors, reach for, handle, and grasp wires, conduit, and hand tools, bend, crouch, and work in small places, and lift and carry objects related to performing the job task. A valid Texas driver’s license is preferred, but a State or Government issued Identification card will be accepted. A valid Texas Electrical Apprentice License is required. OSHA‑10 or equivalent a plus but not required. Physical Demands Must have experience as an instrument fitter in an industrial environment.
