Design Assurance Engineer, Professional II

Responsibilities The design assurance team supports Zebra’s promise of quality to customers and is responsible for ensuring products meet specifications throughout program phases from components to final product. Provide all design assurance deliverables required at each phase with high level of coaching, including evaluation of materials, advising design engineering on component selection and application, evaluating design or test methods and statistical process control procedures, determining reliability requirements, and using statistical methods to design reliability and verification test plans. Participate in creation and analysis of qualification test plans and results, and create and analyze designed experiments to determine main effects of low‑complexity device sub‑systems to improve designs. Use hypothesis testing and other statistical methods to assess significance of test results and actively review, understand and apply the Market Requirements Document and Engineering Specifications to quantify metrics and acceptance thresholds. Communicate proactively with the project team and other stakeholders about progress against qualification testing and reliability analysis, track metrics for the product before and after alpha release, and support multiple derivative or sustaining projects simultaneously. Assist with risk assessment and mitigation activities, assist the project team in root‑cause analysis, and analyze and approve engineering changes to production products. Contribute to innovation efforts by participating in brainstorming activities, benchmarking externally, and providing product qualification or reliability test support over the lifecycle of the product. Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer) Minimum Work Experience Minimum 2+ years of experience in Hardware Engineering and/or Electronics Engineering.
