Position Overview

Aerex Industries is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to take ownership of and oversee the company’s regulated quality programs, including the NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program, ASME Section VIII Quality Control Program, and ASME Section IX welding qualifications .

This is a quality program management position , not primarily an inspection role. The ideal candidate will have direct experience administering, maintaining, developing, auditing, and defending quality programs , manuals, procedures, records, and compliance requirements.

The Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and QC personnel to ensure that quality requirements are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Aerex’s NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program .
• Manage and maintain the ASME Section VIII Boiler & Pressure Vessel Quality Control Program , including the requirements associated with the company’s ASME Certificate of Authorization.
• Maintain and administer the ASME Quality Control Manual , quality procedures, policies, and related program documentation.
• Manage WPS, PQR, and WQTR qualifications in accordance with ASME Section IX.
• Develop, revise, implement, and maintain quality manuals, procedures, and processes.
• Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, ASME reviews, regulatory surveys, customer audits, and inspections .
• Work directly with the Authorized Inspector/Authorized Inspection Agency throughout applicable ASME activities.
• Manage corrective actions, audit findings, nonconformances, and follow-up through closure.
• Provide quality program oversight to Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Project Management.
• Review documentation to ensure contractual, regulatory, customer, and quality program requirements are understood and met.
• Maintain approved supplier lists and oversee supplier quality requirements.
• Ensure inspection records, quality records, and nonconformance reports are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
• Manage customer and field complaint investigations and ensure appropriate resolution and closure.
• Manage personnel qualification and training requirements under the applicable quality programs.
• Ensure required training and qualification activities are scheduled, completed, documented, and maintained.
• Review bids and proposals and provide QA guidance to Program Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
• Provide quality oversight for product integration and testing activities, where applicable.
• Monitor the operational integrity and calibration/status of instruments, gauges, and specialized measurement equipment.
• Supervise QC personnel and support the development of a highly qualified, motivated, and accountable quality team.
• Train new and existing employees on applicable quality policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Promote a culture of quality, compliance, continuous improvement, and accountability throughout the organization.

• Quality program oversight within manufacturing and engineering environments
• WPS, PQR, and WQTR qualification programs under ASME Section IX
• Metal fabrication, pipe fabrication, machining, welding, and coating/painting processes
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints

Important Distinction About This Role

This position is specifically seeking a Quality Assurance Program Manager—not a Senior Inspector or Lead QC Inspector.

Inspection and NDE experience are valuable; however, candidates whose experience has primarily consisted of performing or supervising inspections, NDE, dimensional inspection, or weld inspection without direct responsibility for administering the underlying quality program will not be the primary target for this position.

The ideal candidate is someone who can own the quality program , including its manuals, procedures, audits, records, corrective actions, supplier controls, training requirements, and regulatory/customer compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a quality professional within an ISO, NQA-1, and/or ASME Section VIII-based quality assurance program .
• Demonstrated experience managing or administering regulated quality programs.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, pipe fabrication, machining, welding, and coating/painting processes.
• Ability to read, understand, create, and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, procedures, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Professional demeanor with strong internal and external customer relationship skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Level II NDE certifications — VT, PT, and/or MT — in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A .
• CWI certification or strong knowledge of welding processes.
• Additional experience within the nuclear, pressure vessel, fabrication, or regulated manufacturing industries.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to access and navigate the manufacturing/production facility.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds .
• Ability to work for extended periods using computers and monitors.
• Ability to perform repetitive keyboard and mouse functions.
• Ability to wear required PPE and protective equipment.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical equipment, heat, cold, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, metal burrs/chips, and industrial chemicals.
• Standard 40-hour work week, Monday–Friday .
• Availability to work occasional weekends for travel, special projects, meetings, or company business.
• Must be willing to sign the company's NDA and comply with company policies and requirements.
