Job Title: Drillers Helper

Job Description

This entry-level role supports drilling and geotechnical operations in the Lake Charles, LA market by assisting with soil sampling, testing, and general field activities. You will travel to various project sites, collect soil samples, and work closely with technicians and engineers to learn the construction materials testing (CMT) industry and geotechnical engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist drillers during field operations, including setup, operation support, and breakdown of drilling activities.
• Travel to various job sites in the Baton Rouge area and surrounding regions to support soil sampling and testing projects.
• Collect soil samples in accordance with established procedures and project requirements.
• Support soil testing and inspection activities under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers.
• Perform general labor tasks associated with drilling and construction-related field work.
• Follow instructions from field technicians and engineers to gain a deeper understanding of the CMT industry and geotechnical practices.
• Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently in both field and office environments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at job sites and in the office.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Adhere to site access requirements, including TWIC card usage where applicable.
• Support a smaller, team-oriented environment by collaborating effectively and demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Baton Rouge,LA.
