Job Description: The Research Foundation for The State University of New York State at SUNY Cobleskill is seeking a Marketing Subject Matter Expert (MSME). The Marketing Subject Matter Expert (MSME) will lead the delivery of technical assistance in marketing, advertising, and promotion for participating farm and food producers in the Mohawk Valley region of New York State. This role is ideal for a marketing professional who understands the unique challenges and opportunities for small and beginning businesses within the agricultural and food production sectors. The MSME will work directly with producers to strengthen their market presence, expand customer reach, and implement effective, tailored marketing strategies. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, promotion or related fields. Minimum of 3 years' experience in marketing. Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing strategies for small business, producers, or similar audiences. Experience conducting market assessments and creating tailored marketing action plans. Ability to provide hands-on implementation support, from planning through execution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with diverse producers. Ability to work successfully as a member of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite AND Graphic Design Software such as InDesign. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the agricultural or food production sector, including direct work with farm or food businesses. Experience attending or presenting at producer-focused events, workshops, or conferences. Background in project management, program evaluation, or report co-authorship. Experience in grant administration preferred. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly communications or outreach teams. Additional Information: Salary $55,000-$65,000/ year plus benefits. Full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, occasional nights and weekends necessary for events. This is a Research Foundation position. This position is fully funded from March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2029 through the Farmers Market Promotion Program and Local Food Promotion Program grant; extension is possible with the receipt of additional funding.
