HERCO’s Sales Department has created a dynamic role in their growing company of 19 years located in Auburn Hills, MI. HERCO Casting Equipment & Service is a leading provider of advanced solutions for die casting and injection molding operations across North America.
HERCO’s Mold Water Equipment & Services segment focuses on performance. Their products improve cooling, efficiency, extend mold life and reduce unplanned downtime. Core offerings include:
TCU Repair & Service (all major brands)
MoldFlush™ Mold Cooling Channel Cleaning
HydroTRX™ Cooling Water Supply & Treatment System
Position
You are the Sales Manager of the Cooling Water Equipment & Service, meaning over your own book of business not over direct reports. You are responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding HERCO’s footprint, and driving revenue growth across their TCU Service, MoldFlush™ and HydroTRX™ product lines.
This is a high-impact, customer-facing role focused on identifying prospects, generating leads, conducting plant visits, presenting technical solutions, preparing commercial proposals, and closing deals. The ideal candidate understands industrial manufacturing environments—die casting or injection molding preferably—and is motivated to build strong customer relationships by offering problem-solving solutions.
Success in This Role Looks Like
· Significant new customer acquisition within the first 12 months
· Strong pipeline development and consistent quoting activity
· Increased revenue from TCU Service, MoldFlush™, and HydroTRX™
· Higher customer uptime, efficiency, and repeat service bookings
· Visible presence and reputation across North American die casting and molding plants
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
· Identify, target, and acquire new customers in die casting, injection molding and other markets.
· Develop and execute a strategic sales plan across the region.
· Generate leads through plant visits, networking, industry events, referrals, and CRM activity.
· Promote the full spectrum of HERCO Cooling Water solutions: TCU Service, MoldFlush™, and HydroTRX™.
· Conduct equipment assessments and gather customer technical requirements.
· Prepare and deliver commercial quotes and proposals in collaboration with contract management.
Customer Engagement
· Build strong, long-term relationships with maintenance managers, tooling engineers, quality teams, and purchasing departments.
· Perform on-site visits to evaluate cooling systems and identify improvement opportunities.
· Provide product/value presentations, ROI analysis, and process improvement recommendations.
· Follow up consistently on open quotes and opportunities.
Sales Process & Reporting
· Maintain accurate CRM data on activities, quotes, and pipeline stages.
· Provide monthly/quarterly sales forecasts and territory updates.
· Track performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement in sales processes.
Collaboration
· Work closely with the Service Department, Technical Team, and Operations to ensure smooth delivery of service projects.
· Provide market feedback on customer needs, competition, and new opportunities.
· Coordinate with marketing for campaigns, events, and product promotion.
Qualifications
Required
· 3–7 years of sales or business development experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
· Strong understanding of plant water treatment operations, cooling systems, or industrial services.
· Proven ability to acquire new customers and close deals.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
· Self-driven, organized, and comfortable managing a regional territory.
· Willingness to travel (up to 40–60%).
Desired
· Experience in die casting or injection molding industries.
· Knowledge of cooling systems, water treatment, TCUs, or mold maintenance.
· Technical or engineering background is a plus, but not required.
