Here’s the scoop - Summary

The eCommerce Marketing Manager is a strategic partner within the e-commerce Sales Team, building marketing partnerships and managing digital campaigns with customers such as Amazon, Chewy and Petco. 

They will work directly with customer marketing teams and agency partners to translate Champion PetFood’s North America Growth agenda into e-commerce shopper marketing plans that continuously optimize full-funnel performance metrics and customer engagement strategies. 

The E-commerce Shopper Marketing Manager possesses a deep understanding of consumer behavior, the retail media landscape, and e-commerce platform mechanics. Champion Petfoods, within the Mars Pet ecosystem, is a specialty super-premium pet food company dedicated to its high-quality nutritional philosophy. 

The Ecommerce Marketing Manager works out of our Corporate office in Louisville (CO), Nashville (TN), New York City (NY) or St Louis (MO), works a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-person and reports to the Director of eCommerce, Retail Media & Merchandising.

Key Responsibilities:

• Retail Media Ownership & Optimization: Own retail media performance and optimization. Provide media strategy support, comprehensive campaign planning, and ongoing media optimization.
• Audience & Search Strategy: Develop and execute audience targeting strategies and manage keyword bidding to maximize campaign reach and conversion.
• Campaign Management & Execution: Develop and implement full-funnel shopper marketing strategies for Amazon and Chewy that align with regional e-commerce sales goals. Includes agency briefing, planning, creative development, and continuous optimization.
• Drive Perfect Digital Store (PDS): Build an action plan to optimize performance across retailers’ pages and Brand Stores, including image and video content, searchable content, & ratings and reviews, leveraging tools such as Salsify, Vendor Central, NielsenIQ, Power BI as needed.
• Sales Growth & Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, providing insights to optimize spend, increase ROI, and grow sales and share. Regularly report on sales trends, opportunities, and campaign outcomes (Campaign Reporting) to the Ecommerce Director.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop comprehensive plans that address consumer needs and enhance the shopping experience. Provide creative recommendations and promotional media support. Collaborate with Amazon and Chewy Account Directors to align on key opportunities.
• Customer Insights & Competitive Analysis: Analyze customer behavior and competitive activity leveraging data insights to inform strategic decisions and improve the shopper journey.
• Influence Annual Account Business Planning: Participate in Account Strategy and Customer Relationships. Support Annual Business Planning, Internal Leadership initiatives, and Executive presentations. Provide actionable insights and solutions that support growth objectives for the customer, company, and category. Lean into storytelling and presentations to leadership and customers concerning our eComm Marketing efforts.
• Budget & Resource Management: Handle overall Budget Management. Manage and allocate the budget for e-commerce campaigns and ensure that resources are optimized to drive sales and engagement within budget.
• Innovation & Capability Building: Drive a Test & Learn Roadmap. Contribute to the Global Digital Marketing learning agenda: identify best practices, contribute to the global test and learn plan, and drive capability building within North America.
• Agency Management and Governance: Own management of Retail Media Agency, establishing performance expectations and working through the commercial team to drive efficient and timely contract negotiations. Leverage and provide feedback on Global agencies and tools.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience and a strong record of driving growth in the e-Commerce/ Digital Commerce Channel.
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in managing Amazon and Chewy marketing campaigns, including an understanding of their platform algorithms, advertising tools, and best practices.
• Experience with retail media players including understanding fundamental tenets of costs (CPMs), targeting, measurement, and optimization.
• Understand core digital and e-commerce business metrics and how to optimize against them.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work in a complex environment, prioritize work and keep projects on track and on budget.
• Possesses a growth mindset to continuously challenge the organization in ways that build a culture of continuous learning.
• Must be proactive, action-oriented, and results-driven.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
