Land Development | Horizontal Construction | Grading & Utilities | Entitlements & Permitting A leading national homebuilder is seeking an Assistant Land Development Manager to support the execution of residential land development projects from pre-construction through completion. This role works closely with the Land Development Manager and cross-functional teams to help drive schedules, budgets, and field coordination across multiple active communities. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing day-to-day land development activities including grading, wet/dry utilities, paving, and off-site improvements
- Support project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking to ensure projects stay on time and within budget
- Coordinate with civil engineers, consultants, municipalities, and subcontractors
- Assist with bid packages, contract administration, and buyout processes
- Track permits, entitlements, and agency approvals to maintain project timelines
- Conduct site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Help resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with internal and external teams
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and communication across stakeholders
- 2-6 years of experience in land development, civil engineering, or related field
- Experience with residential homebuilding or land development projects preferred
- Exposure to horizontal construction (grading, utilities, street improvements, etc.)
- Understanding of permits, entitlements, and municipal processes
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficiency with construction management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, etc.) is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
