Job Summary
Summary: Designs, fabricates, installs, and maintains traffic signs, street name signs, vinyl graphics, banners, decals, plaques, and other municipal signage used throughout the Town. Operates specialized sign production equipment and graphic design software to produce high-quality signage while assisting with the maintenance of traffic control devices and supporting related sign shop and field operations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience operating large-format printers, vinyl cutters, laminators, or similar production equipment preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Sign Fabrication
- Design and produce regulatory, warning, street name, directional, informational, and custom signs.
- Create and edit layouts using graphic design software.
- Operate large-format printers, vinyl plotters, laminators, and sign fabrication equipment.
- Produce vinyl decals, vehicle graphics, banners, specialty graphics, and custom signage for Town buildings, municipal vehicles, bus shelters, public facilities, special events, and other Town operations.
- Design, produce, and maintain commemorative plaques for the Town's Boardwalk Dedicated Bench Program, ensuring accuracy of names, dates, and installation specifications
- Apply reflective sheeting and laminates to traffic signs.
- Maintain inventory of sign blanks, reflective materials, vinyl, inks, and fabrication supplies.
- Assist Sign Technicians with installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing traffic signs, street name signs, and related hardware.
- Coordinate with Town departments to fabricate graphics, decals, plaques, and signage supporting municipal facilities, fleet vehicles, parks, bus shelters, special events, and other public works initiatives.
- Assist with pavement marking operations, banner and flag installation, utility locates, inspections, and sign inventory.
- Operate light- and medium-duty trucks, pressure washers, pole drivers, paint stripers, drills, jackhammers, and other equipment associated with sign installation and maintenance.
- Assist with maintenance of the Town's sign shop, fabrication equipment, and storage facilities.
- Perform general maintenance assignments throughout the Town.
- Assist with beach, boardwalk, street, and facility maintenance.
- Support special events, emergency operations, and storm response.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Gerber Omega, or similar design software preferred.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to pass all mandated alcohol/drug tests.
