Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Media/Entertainment)

We’re looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join a fast-moving, growing media company and help build the people infrastructure that supports the next stage of the business. This is a role for someone who likes to build, move quickly, solve problems, and operate with a high degree of autonomy. You should be equally comfortable advising a leader through a sensitive employee situation, coaching a manager who has never managed before, creating a process from scratch, or figuring out how to make something work when there isn’t an obvious playbook. We are looking for a true business partner, not someone who simply executes HR processes. Title: Senior HRBP Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3-4 Days Per Week On-Site) Base Salary: $145,000–$160,000 + Annual Bonus What You’ll Do: Partner closely with leaders and managers across the business on employee relations, performance, development, organizational effectiveness, and day-to-day people matters Coach managers through challenging employee situations and help them become more effective leaders Support performance management, including goal setting, performance improvement plans, difficult conversations, and ongoing performance coaching Provide thoughtful guidance on employee relations issues, balancing employee experience, business needs, and company policies Identify opportunities to improve how the organization operates and build processes, tools, and programs where they don’t yet exist Help create structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy Anticipate business and people needs before they become problems Partner on talent development, manager development, engagement, and organizational growth Work cross-functionally with leadership and other members of the People team Help establish scalable HR practices as the company grows Navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions when there isn't a clear precedent or answer Bring a practical, solutions-oriented approach to everything you do What We’re Looking For: The right person will likely have experience in a startup, high-growth, entrepreneurial, media, entertainment, or similarly fast‑paced environment where things move quickly and the organization is still evolving. You are someone who: Is scrappy, resourceful, and highly adaptable Moves quickly without sacrificing judgment Is comfortable operating in the grey and doesn't need every situation to come with a playbook Takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told what needs to happen Is naturally curious and asks the right questions Can influence leaders without relying on authority Communicates clearly, directly, and thoughtfully Has strong business judgment and understands that HR is there to help the business and its people succeed Is highly organized and efficient, with a knack for simplifying complicated things Sees a problem and thinks, “How can we fix this?” rather than “That's not my job.” Enjoys building and creating rather than simply maintaining existing programs Can move between strategic thinking and rolling up their sleeves to get something done Has the confidence and maturity to push back when necessary, while maintaining strong relationships Understands that sometimes the best HR answer requires nuance rather than a policy citation Required Experience: Significant HR Business Partner or HR leadership experience, ideally in a startup, high‑growth, media, entertainment, or similarly entrepreneurial environment Strong employee relations and manager coaching experience Demonstrated experience coaching and developing managers, including leaders who may be relatively new to people management Experience with performance management, performance improvement, employee development, and organizational effectiveness Experience building or improving HR processes, programs, and infrastructure Strong understanding of core HR practices and employment considerations Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience This is a role for an experienced HR professional who can operate independently and serve as a trusted advisor to leaders.
