Shipping & Receiving ClerkCalspan is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support the efficient flow of materials, equipment, and supplies throughout our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing materials for shipment, receiving and inspecting deliveries, and coordinating transportation logistics.The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and excellent customer service.As a key member of the Facilities team, you will help ensure that materials are received, stored, distributed, and shipped in a timely and efficient manner while supporting inventory control and maintaining organized shipping and receiving operations.ResponsibilitiesLoad and/or unload containers from carriers. Check materials and/or articles of all outgoing shipments against shipping orders for accuracy. Document and report any shortages, damaged or defective material shipped or received.Properly build and pack boxes, crates or cartons for outgoing shipments.Prepare accurate shipping documents.Assists in determining method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.QualificationsPreferred Education / Experience:High school graduate or equivalent (preferably from a vocational or technical school)1+ years' experience in a plant and facilities environmentPreferred Knowledge / Ability:HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) certificationTraining in international shipping rules and regulationsUse a computer as needed for email, internet information and use Microsoft Office documents to create entries and maintain an electronic log of incoming and outgoing packagesAbility to handle multiple prioritiesStrong customer service skillsStrong attention to detail, organization and time management skillsFork lift certificationUS citizenship requirement – security clearance is required for this roleWhy join Calspan?Be Calspan CultureAt Calspan, we promote an environment that empowers employees and encourages innovation.
