Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an EP Lab position requiring 2 years of cath lab experience and IABP experience in an acute care setting.

Details

EP Lab (Electrophysiology Lab) within an acute care, Trauma Level 2 facility

7 procedure rooms total (4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR)

20+ cases per day across all rooms

Patient population includes ablations (A.Fib, A.Flutter, SVT, VT), EP studies with programmed stim, pacemaker and ICD placements, and loop recorder implants

Daily staffing varies from 3 to 4 person EP team

4 ten-hour shifts per week (0700-1730) with a rotating day off, with consideration for 5 eight-hour shifts (0730-1630)

No weekends or holidays on the standard schedule, though holiday call may be required

Weeknight and weekend call rotation required, approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends (Fri-Mon)

Call response time is 30 minutes

No floating required

Uses Cerner and Merge EMR/equipment systems

Requirements

Active RN license (WI or Compact)

Current certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)

Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required

IABP experience required

2 professional references required: 1 from a supervisor and 1 from a peer or supervisor

Additional Information

Responsibilities include verifying orders and consent, performing head-to-toe assessments, patient education, room setup, circulating cases, administering moderate sedation, assisting anesthesia providers, and continuous hemodynamic monitoring

Participates in STEMI call team coverage alongside 3 techs

2 team leads manage scheduling and staffing and may assist with staffing duties when needed

Unit-specific orientation typically includes 2-3 full days of training and shadowing with a buddy, no call during the first week, buddy call during the second week, and independent call thereafter

Scrubs are provided, though candidates may wear their own scrub caps

All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Previous employees of this facility are not eligible unless their end date is at least 6 months prior to application

Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
