Sabal Eye Care is seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Optometric Technician / Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Longwood. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, works well with a team, and is committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience.

Previous ophthalmic or optometric experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients through the exam process efficiently and professionally
• Obtain patient medical histories and document accurately in the EMR
• Perform preliminary testing including:
  • Visual acuity
  • Auto-refraction
  • Tonometry
  • OCT
  • Visual fields
  • Fundus photography
• Assist doctors with medical exams and procedures
• Educate patients on treatment plans and medications
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical equipment
• Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day
• Cross-train and assist with front desk or contact lens duties as needed

Qualifications

• Prior ophthalmic/optometric technician experience preferred
• COA/CPO certification is a plus, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and maintain efficiency under pressure
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable with technology and electronic medical records
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
