Description This position involves greeting, seating, and serving guests while providing excellent customer service in a Rib Crib establishment. Responsibilities Greet and seat all guests using the standard Rib Crib greeting, "Hi, Welcome to Rib Crib," and proceed to use the twelve steps of service. Present the menu, answer questions, suggestively sell menu items using "sizzle words," and address food and service inquiries. Answer phone calls by the third ring, determine the nature of the call, and direct calls to the appropriate persons. Take call‑in orders and answer catering questions when necessary. Record guests’ orders on the check. Relay orders to the kitchen and serve courses from the kitchen. Prepare and suggest drinks and desserts, and stock service bars as determined by the establishment’s size and practices. Observe guests’ dining experiences, respond to additional requests, and determine when a meal has been completed. Total the bill, accept payment, or refer the patron to the cashier. Clear and reset counters or tables at the conclusion of each meal and shift. Demonstrate a willingness to assume any responsibility or perform any task (“shift to assist”) regardless of nature to demonstrate that teamwork is part of the operating culture. Perform all other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing to serve guests and supervise dining room activities as needed. Understand basic math concepts for totalling costs and making change. Proficiency with restaurant equipment, including headset, microphone, and Aloha or View Touch operating systems. Minimum six months of prior restaurant industry experience as determined by management discretion. Food Handler’s Permit where applicable. Physical & Mental Requirements Perform most work from a standing position for long periods, frequently walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, kneeling, or stooping. Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting not to exceed 30 pounds. Working Conditions Position is in a climate‑controlled establishment. Employees may be exposed to brief periods of temperature extremes of heat or cold in conjunction with internal conditions as warranted for the preservation or preparation of food handling. #J-18808-Ljbffr RibCrib
