Heavy Duty Mechanic - Mining

Essential Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy mining equipment including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and excavators Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections to keep equipment running safely and efficiently Repair and replace components to OEM standards, with a focus on Cat, Hitachi, and Komatsu equipment Complete service records and communicate equipment status to operations teams Work safely with tools and equipment, following all site safety procedures Collaborate with mechanics and operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime Qualifications 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in heavy equipment repair (mining or heavy civil preferred) Trade certification, technical training, or equivalent experience is an asset Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Experience reading schematics and using diagnostic tools Experience with Cat, Hitachi, and Komatsu equipment strongly preferred MSHA Part 48 (metal/non‑metal) required (support provided if needed) Valid driver’s license with clean abstract Must pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing Work Conditions Rotating shifts, 10–12 hours per day Overtime paid after 40 hours Steady, site‑based work with long‑term opportunities Daily Living Out Allowance (LOA) Health and wellness benefits, plus 401(k) matching Outdoor work in all weather conditions Location Idaho Falls, ID.
