Job Title: Utility Production and Packaging

Job Description

This role focuses on packaging chocolates and other finished food products on a moving conveyor line while maintaining production pace, quality standards, and a clean, safe work area. You work as part of a team in a warehouse environment, performing a variety of production and packaging tasks and following all food manufacturing and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Package chocolates and finished products into boxes while working alongside a moving conveyor line.
• Maintain the pace of the production line and ensure all products are packaged accurately and consistently.
• Perform various production, packaging, and general labor duties as assigned throughout the shift.
• Work on utility lines and production / assembly lines, including conveyor belt operation and material handling.
• Follow instructions from forepersons, supervisors, and managers to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Conduct basic quality inspection and quality control checks to ensure products meet food manufacturing requirements.
• Label and package products according to established procedures and GMP guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse and food production standards.
• Participate in required stretching and exercises throughout the workday to support safety and ergonomics.
• Follow all GMP, safety, quality, and food production procedures at all times.
• Stand and work on an assembly/production line for extended periods while performing repetitive packaging tasks.
• Handle materials and lift up to 30 lbs. as needed during the shift.
• Support a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment and collaborate effectively with other utility workers.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to ensure consistent coverage on the production line.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week plus overtime and weekends when production needs require it.

Essential Skills

• Experience or strong comfort working in production, packaging, food packaging, food production, or warehouse environments.
• Ability to work on a production / assembly line, including conveyor belt operation and fast-paced production tasks.
• Knowledge of or ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines in a food manufacturing setting.
• Ability to stand and work on an assembly/production line for 8+ hours, excluding breaks.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as needed throughout the shift.
• Comfort with repetitive packaging tasks and general production worker duties.
• Strong reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and collaborate with other utility workers.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week plus overtime when required.
• Willingness to work weekends when production needs require it.
• Attention to detail for quality inspection, quality control, and accurate labeling and packaging.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse environment at room temperature, working side by side with other utility workers on production and assembly lines. You spend most of the day standing and working on or around conveyor belts, handling materials and performing repetitive packaging tasks. The schedule runs from 5:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with full-time hours and potential overtime, including some weekend work when needed. This is a temporary assignment through the end of the year. Non-slip shoes are required as part of the dress code to support safety on the production floor.

This is a Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.85 - $20.85/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
