Full-Time Professional Urgent Care Carmichael, Carmichael, CA, US Salary Range: $75.00 To $90.00 Hourly About the Role: The Physician Assistant in Urgent Care plays a critical role in delivering timely and effective medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries. This position requires the ability to rapidly assess patient conditions, develop appropriate treatment plans, and perform necessary procedures within a fast-paced clinical environment. The PA will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management and continuity of care. Additionally, the role involves educating patients on their conditions and preventive health measures to promote overall wellness. Ultimately, the Physician Assistant contributes to improving patient outcomes by providing high-quality, compassionate care in urgent care settings across diverse patient populations. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in the United States. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Demonstrated experience or clinical rotations in urgent care, emergency medicine, or related acute care settings. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an urgent care or emergency department environment. Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or trauma-related training. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telemedicine platforms. Strong background in patient education and counseling techniques. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to evaluate urgent medical conditions. Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, including minor fractures, lacerations, infections, and respiratory issues. Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging studies to inform clinical decisions. Perform minor surgical procedures and administer medications as appropriate within the scope of practice. Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans. Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards. Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication usage, and follow-up care instructions. Respond efficiently to emergency situations and elevate care when necessary to ensure patient safety. Skills: The Physician Assistant utilizes clinical assessment and diagnostic skills daily to evaluate and manage urgent patient conditions effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients about their health and treatment plans. Proficiency in procedural skills allows the PA to perform minor procedures and administer treatments confidently and safely.
