ROLE : DATABRICKS PLATFORM ENGINEER
Location: Onsite Plano, TX / Middletown, NJ / Alpharetta, GA
Overview: Tier-1 support org seeking Databricks Platform Engineer as primary engineering support for enterprise customers. Troubleshoot, isolate & resolve issues before escalating to Tier-2 / Databricks Support. Customer-facing + technical troubleshooting role.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Primary technical POC for customer-reported platform/app issues
- Engage with customers to understand business impact
- Troubleshoot infra, app & platform issues via RCA
- Investigate logs, error messages, monitoring tools
- Resolve Tier-1 incidents independently
- Escalate complex issues to Tier-2 / Databricks Support with detailed docs
- Document RCA & resolution in incident management system
- Track cases, maintain customer communication
- Collaborate with eng, ops, product teams
- Identify trends & recommend process improvements
Required Qualifications:
- 5-8 yrs in tech support / systems eng / prod support / SRE / app support
- Exp troubleshooting enterprise software / cloud platforms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer-first mindset
- Ticketing systems: ServiceNow, Jira Service Management
- System logs, monitoring tools, troubleshooting methodologies
Technical Must-Haves:
- Databricks Platform Support/Admin - MANDATORY
- Databricks Notebooks, Clusters, Jobs, SQL Warehouses, Workspace Admin
- Troubleshooting Spark job failures / distributed computing
- SQL - mandatory for investigating issues
- Cloud: Azure / AWS / Google Cloud Platform (any one)
- Monitoring: Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, Azure Monitor
- Networking basics, Auth, Identity Management
- Linux & CLI troubleshooting
- SaaS / cloud-native apps support
- ITIL / ITSM - plus
