Assistant Manager II

Overview Family Dollar is hiring an Assistant Manager II to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas Perform opening and closing procedures as needed Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and related store communications) Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits/receipts), and loss prevention Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neat presentation Other duties as assigned Skills And Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills Strong problem solving and decision-making skills Perks And Benefits Employee Assistance Program Retirement plans Educational Assistance And more Equal opportunity employer; ADA accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
