This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer based in Canada.

In this role, you will contribute to the quality and reliability of a large-scale, data-driven platform powering complex financial and technology workflows used by thousands of enterprise customers. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to design, build, and evolve robust test automation frameworks that ensure seamless user experiences across web applications, APIs, and backend systems. This is a highly collaborative, remote-first environment where quality engineering is deeply integrated into the development lifecycle. You will play a key role in shaping how automation and AI-assisted testing are leveraged to accelerate delivery without compromising stability. The work combines traditional QA expertise with modern AI-driven development practices, including LLM-assisted test generation and analysis. This is an opportunity to influence testing strategy at scale while working on impactful, fast-evolving product areas.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated and manual testing strategies across web, API, and backend systems, ensuring high product quality and reliability throughout the SDLC.
• Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Locust), improving coverage, reducing flakiness, and enabling faster release cycles.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to define test scenarios, identify edge cases, and embed quality early in development through continuous feedback loops.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate test creation, debugging, root cause analysis, and optimization of automation workflows.
• Design and execute API and integration testing strategies, validating data flows, system behavior, and service reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices, ensuring automated quality gates are consistently enforced.
• Support the testing of AI-enabled features, including LLM outputs, prompt regression, and behavioral consistency evaluation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with strong focus on web application testing and automation.
• Hands-on expertise in building and maintaining test automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright or similar.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python preferred).
• Strong experience in API testing (REST and/or GraphQL) using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Locust.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and Agile development workflows.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, or similar) for test creation and debugging.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex system issues quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience testing AI-powered or LLM-based features is a strong plus.
