Job Description:

The registered nurse will work in an ICU unit caring for complex patients with a wide range of conditions including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma. The position involves working in a mixed MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU environment with designated pods. Experience with critical care, Epic, and strong team collaboration is required.

Responsibilities:

• Caring for complex ICU patients with various diagnoses
• Maintaining and operating medical equipment such as ventilators and hemodynamic lines
• Providing advanced critical thinking and assessment skills in a fast-paced setting

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience (excluding travel)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Completion of an approved nursing education program; RN - South Dakota Board of Nursing
• Experience with Epic, IV medications, and patient management
• Ability to work a 48-hour week

No. Minimum one prior travel assignment Traveler must reside >100 miles outside of facility Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Patient Types: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff Patient Ratios: RN: 1:1, 2:1, 3:1
