Licensed Practical Nurse (1099) PRN Pay rate : $42.00 per hour/1099 Company: Kansas Soldiers’ Home/Kansas Department of Administration-Temporary Nurse Staffing Services # of Openings : 6 Position Type: Per Diem Location: Fort Dodge, KS, United States Job Summary Roles and Responsibilities The Licensed Practical Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge of skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development and possess the ability to assess and interpret data to identify age specific needs. Must provide leadership and coordination of quality patient care by fostering therapeutic relationships, active treatment and supporting the hospital in its mission and vision. Provides patient care and recognition of behavioral and physical changes. Carries out nursing care recommendations and orders. Maintains a therapeutic environment. Passes medications and oversees the medication room. Serves as shift leader if assigned, making assignments to direct care staff, and providing oversight to subordinate nursing staff working the unit. Responds to medical emergencies as assigned. Takes orders and provides care/treatment as ordered by medical staff. Requirements Must be eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Kansas and six months of experience in practical nursing. At the onboarding, the appointment the selected employee must possess a Kansas license/temporary permit or be given authority to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Requires an approved drug test approved by the Kansas Department of Administration unless. Requires an approved drug test approved by the Kansas Department of Administration.
