Work in a fun and spirited environment and be engaged in your community.Hourly Rate:Statewide locations = $16.23/hrNorthern Virginia locations = $19.15/hrThis position is a wage position and is limited to 29 hours per week with no benefits, not to exceed 1500 hours per year for accurate information.Key Responsibilities:Learn Virginia ABC full product portfolio to provide customers with the best shopping experience and connect them to the right product(s)Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting and establishing a rapport with customers while informing them of our products and servicesProject a positive shopping experience and act quickly to resolve customer questions and concernsChecking IDs and observing customers to determine legality of salesLearn new technologyMaintain store visual presentation according to Virginia ABC merchandising guidelinesMaintain shelf stock and displays to enhance product availabilityOperate an electronic POS (point of sale) terminal including scanning equipmentPerform accurate cashier functions and account for personal cash shortagesAssisting customers with loading merchandise as requestedUnload shipments and place stock within the stockroomAccurately assemble and verify licensee ordersMaintain store safety standardsOwnership of store cleanliness and assist in maintaining standards throughout the storeJob Requirements:Applicants must be at least 21 years of ageAbility to effectively lift and physically maneuver at least 65 lbs on a repetitive basisExperience working with the general publicAbility to work a flexible schedule as business requiresAbility to use technology applicable to the position and to complete daily responsibilitiesExperience working in a team environment requiring professional and effective communication skillsDesire to continually develop retail sales skills and knowledge of product and servicesStrong interpersonal skills necessary for establishing customer and team relationshipsAbility to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environmentPreferred Experience and Skills:Some working experience as a store associate or customer service representative is a plusExperience with electronic point of sale systems (POS) activities or scanning equipmentExperience working in an alcohol beverage industry (i.e. liquor store, bar, vendor rep or establishment that sells alcoholic products)Schedule Requirements:Truck Delivery Days: Hours maybe outside of normal business hoursInventory days: May work past midnight and/or other times when the store is normally closedWork hours may vary week to week and cannot exceed 29 hours in a single work weekWilling to work various shifts and weekly work schedules including Saturdays, Sundays, some holidays and during inclement weatherEach agency within the Commonwealth of Virginia is dedicated to recruiting, supporting, and maintaining a competent and diverse work force.
