Must-Have: Experience in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, rapid/point of care tests, and blood bank.

Description: TotalMed Interviews - Manager Final Approval.

Unit Information: 25 bed facility with an attached clinic. Average patient census is about 20 specimens processed daily. Will accept outpatient or acute care experience. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Common patient types and diagnoses include chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, rapid/POC testing, and blood bank work. Required skills include experience with laboratory work, inventory management, quality control checks, and phlebotomy. Candidates must be comfortable working independently as there may be only one lab tech on duty. Self-motivation is essential. Blood bank experience is preferred but can be taught on the job if not previously experienced. Manager on site occasionally and available via phone. Another lab technician may be present, along with RNs and CNAs on the floor for support. Local nursing leadership is available if issues arise. Technology used includes EMR systems. Unit-specific equipment includes Chemistry Dimension EXL 200, Hematology Sysmex 550, Coag CA 660, and others.

Weekend rotation is required, typically every 3rd or 4th weekend. On-call responsibility includes three nights of weeknight call per week from 1900-0700. Weekend on-call from Saturday 0700 to Monday 0700. 30-minute response time for call. Holiday expectation includes being on call every 3rd holiday. Requests for time off must be approved by the manager. Shifts may rotate between 0700-1730 and 0830-1900. The manager typically schedules well in advance. Scrub colors must be solid and professional, with no graphics, logos, or designs.
