About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC or TCAR, NIH, EKG course completion preferred Must-Have: 6 hours total of Stroke Education Description: Start date within the next 3-5 weeks preferred. ACLS, BLS, TNCC or TCAR, NIH certifications are required. Candidates must have EKG course completion. The nurse will be required to float to MS/Tele if necessary due to low census. Nurse to patient ratios will be 5-6:1 during floating. Floating may occur for the majority of scheduled shifts depending on census. Candidates should be aware of and agreeable to the floating requirements. Facility is in the process of opening a new unit, and RNs will work in ICU, PCU, and/or MS/Tele based on facility needs. 36 or 48 hours per week will be considered. The daily census ranges from 15 patients. Additional interprofessional support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Patients may include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Essential skills needed include management of ventilated patients, central line care, neuro intensive care, and titration of vasoactive drips. Experience with charting systems, preferably Cerner, is required. Candidates should have experience in a variety of critical care procedures.
