About the Position The incumbent of this position will serve as a Supervisory Training Specialist GS-1712-11 for Defense Health Agency Headquarters located at JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Basic Requirements Supervisory Training Specialist (Combat Medic) GS-1712-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is described as developing and managing cognitive and psychomotor testing materials, applying academic policies, and maintaining accurate student and course data for large training populations. Demonstrated ability to oversee testing operations, ensure compliance with EMT, TC3, and 68W POI standards, and coordinate with internal and external agencies. Skilled in supervising staff, issuing guidance, evaluating performance, and maintaining accountability of medical and non-medical equipment to support training program effectiveness. Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Health Professions Education. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
