Project Manager IT

Job Summary:

The Project Manager/Leader is responsible for managing large scale, complex, and high-risk projects within OPS I&IT initiatives. This role ensures projects meet business requirements on time, within scope and budget, while focusing on cost effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with OPS project management methodologies. The Project Manager leads project teams, manages budgets, identifies risks, and engages stakeholders to deliver successful IT solutions. Responsibilities:

• Provide project management for large, complex, and high-profile OPS I&IT projects.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, scope, and budgets with fiscal accountability.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, external vendors, and service providers through all project phases.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues proactively.
• Establish and participate in steering committees and stakeholder forums.
• Gather and develop project requirements and maintain detailed schedules and integrated plans.
• Monitor and forecast project costs, providing regular reporting to ensure targets are met.
• Promote and ensure adherence to I&IT project management best practices and methodologies.
• Coordinate across Business, I&IT, Finance, Procurement, Privacy/Security, and Legal functions.
• Manage technology infrastructure changes, transitions, and implementations.
• Lead organizational development, strategy, business planning, and funding requests.
• Resolve resource conflicts and manage team roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
• Provide project, program, and portfolio reporting to senior executives and stakeholders.
• Apply change management strategies throughout all project stages.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in I&IT project management best practices and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Kanban).
• Strong leadership and team management skills across unionized employees and consultants.
• Experience managing complex project budgets and multiple funding channels.
• Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills.
• Ability to manage stakeholder engagement and governance processes.
• Experience with project scheduling, scope management, and deliverables coordination.
• Strong risk identification and mitigation capabilities.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts.
• Experience managing Oracle Service Cloud Platform or similar products.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of Project Management Institute s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
• Understanding of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
• Familiarity with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards.
• Ability to recommend acquisition of software, hardware, and technology resources.
• Experience anticipating and troubleshooting project monitoring issues to improve effectiveness.
