Database Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced Database Lead/Architect to design, govern, optimize, and modernize enterprise data platforms across SQL and NoSQL technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database architecture, performance tuning, scalability, security, cloud data platforms, and data modernization initiatives while providing technical leadership to development and operations teams. The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York City/Jersey City NJ is $135K - $140K/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities Design and implement enterprise-scale database architectures supporting high-volume transactional and analytical workloads. Lead database modernization, migration, and cloud transformation initiatives. Define data modelling standards, governance policies, and database best practices. Architect high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and replication solutions. Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, query tuning, and capacity planning. Partner with application, data engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on solution design. Establish database security, compliance, and data protection standards. Lead troubleshooting of production database issues and performance bottlenecks. Mentor DBAs, developers, and data engineers on best practices and architecture standards.
