This position will be responsible for handling the majority of our diagnostic work, in-depth mechanical repairs, and complex vehicle concerns. We are looking for someone who is dependable, experienced, and comfortable taking the lead on mechanical jobs while working with a growing team. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshoot vehicle issues Complete in-depth mechanical repairs Handle suspension, steering, brakes, engine-related repairs, and other major services Help guide and support other technicians when needed Maintain quality workmanship and efficiency Communicate needed repairs clearly with the service writer/management team Keep work area clean, organized, and professional Qualifications Strong automotive repair and diagnostic experience Ability to work independently and efficiently Experience with scan tools, electrical diagnostics, steering/suspension, brakes, and general repair Valid driver’s license Own tools preferred ASE certifications are a plus, but not required Must be dependable, motivated, and willing to grow with the business Pay & Benefits Hybrid pay structure: hourly pay plus monthly commission bonus Benefits available after 90 days 2 weeks paid time off Growing shop with long-term opportunity Supportive, family-owned work environment About Midwest Tire & Service Midwest Tire & Service is a growing automotive & tire service shop located in Salem, Indiana.
